Sundays are my favorite days as it gives me a chance to reflect on the past week and set aside time to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ. Today I was reflecting on my time in Wyoming, serving as a church missionary. When I first arrived in Wyoming I was unsure about it as I like the city and that was my comfort zone. As the weeks went by I fell in love with Evanston Wyoming and the people. They all taught me important lessons of friendship, service, faith and courage. There is a blog entry titled "All Things Cowboy" and it talks about my first few days in Wyoming and the experiences I had. Here are some excerpts from the entry:
"I am learning to find Heaven within...despite how very different all this is for me. A family in one of the wards kept telling me that they think it was a blessing for me to be here in the stake where there is a young man who is 17 years old and has Cochlear Implants. I was able to meet him and it was neat. I started to see why the Lord would put me here of all places. This young man is a huge example to me...he does rodeo WITH HIS COCHLEAR IMPLANTS ON! His father made sure the surgeon placed the magnet in a way that would make it easy for him to wear his cowboy hat." (read more Here.)
From this experience I learned that you never really know why you are in a certain place, but there is always a purpose.
