Beautiful Heartbeat

Between school, work and traveling to England, France and Wales there has not been very must time to sit down and write. But, I guess it is preparation for our new addition to the family in October! Yes, my wife and I are expecting our first child this October. We are beyond thrilled and excited about this next chapter of our life.

I have been learning a lot from this experience and watching my beautiful wife carry our child. Today’s title is, “Beautiful Heartbeat” because we got to listen to our baby’s heartbeat for the first time today. When I heard it I grabbed my phone and started recording it. I was super excited and my wife kept asking me, “Can you hear it?!?” I responded, “Yes, I can.” At that moment, it felt more real and that I am really going to be a dad.

Shortly after that I wrote this on facebook, “I am so grateful to hear with Cochlear Implants as I got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time today! Music to my ears.” After typing that I suddenly thought back to when my parents were doing everything they can so I can hear my friends, family and those around me. Once I did get the Cochlear Implant it took lots of rehab, money and time to hear how I hear today. Every effort, time and the emotional climb was all to help me one day hear my son or daughter’s heartbeat for the first time. It is a miracle and truly music to my ears.
